3rd Annual Mardi Gras Tybee
On March 4th and 5th, 2011 Tybeefest will present the 3nd Annual Mardi Gras Tybee celebration on Tybee Island, Georgia. Tybee is a natural setting for the Mardi Gras event due to its unique character and fun-loving residents.
The event will encompass the traditions of Mardi Gras, an event with origins dating back to the ancient Romans and carried on today in cities such as Mobile, Alabama and New Orleans, Louisiana. Mardi Gras is held on the last day before the start of Lent. Click here for more details.

Tybee Island Beach Bum Parade
The Beach Bum Parade might surprise the unsuspecting visitor. Floats are pulled behind cars and trucks, and often are filled with water-throwing paraphernalia. Spectators, lined up along the parade route on Butler Avenue, armed with buckets, squirt guns and hoses. What results is an all-out water war for fun loving beach bums of all ages. 10am - 4pm. 2011 Tour features a wide variety of large and small island homes, old and new, each completely unique in both character and design. The Tybee Tour of Homes raises funds to support the Hope House of Savannah, and this is the organization’s primary fund raising event. This event will take place RAIN or SHINE. Fireworks on the Pier
Tybee’s annual celebration of America’s birthday. Come early and plan to stay late as this is one of Tybee’s busiest days of the year and the island fills up fast. Tybee Polar Plunge
This event has become a Tybee tradition, held every January 1st at noon at the Pier on the south end of the island. Plan to be with us next year, invigorating your soul with a cleansing (and cold) plunge into the Atlantic. Come take the plunge, we are freezing for a reason. Come for the camaraderie, the fun, your face will hurt from smiling so much. It's the premiere family fun event. Funny hats and costumes are strongly encouraged. GET a group together of 4 or more for the NEW Gang of Goofs competition to win the coveted Le Goofs trophy. Fun will be had by all. Click here for more details.
